About me
My name is Kim (she/her)

I’m an ANZACATA registered Creative Arts Therapist and an Overe Practitioner in Specialised Kinesiology. I’m also a filmmaker, and I love to make in lots of mediums - whether that’s singing and playing guitar, or picking up a paint brush. I am a settler born and living in Narm (Melbourne). My mother is Chinese Malaysian (Hakka and Hokkien), and my father, Irish and Welsh ancestry. I grew up finding comfort and expression through the arts, and that relationship has carried me throughout my life. Creativity has always been the place where I feel safest to express my emotions and make sense of what I’m feeling.

Like many of the people I work with, I’ve navigated big life transitions, periods of uncertainty, and moments where my body was holding more than words could explain. Through kinesiology or creative processes, I've learned how much wisdom lives in our bodies and how powerful it is when we give it space to speak.

I came to creative arts therapy after many years working in social justice and community settings, particularly with children and young people in youth work. Through facilitating creative programs and community‑led filmmaking, I supported people to share their stories and express lived experiences. This work showed me the many ways creativity supports connection, regulation, and the processing of deeply impactful experiences and led me to undertake studies in creative arts therapy.
